* Hiking Day

Instead of going to the orphanage with Grandma and her friends and with mom, change of plans. My Taiwanese aunt invited us to go to Bukit Lawang with her 2 daughters and we said yes.
SO Bukit Lawang it is. Packed a few stuffs into a handy bag and set off at 11:30 am.

Well seriously, the trip was making me sick! It was like 5 hours for me or even more. I had carsick and dizziness especially since that Mom had added 3 or 2 durians in the back of the car she bought at some place, it stinks. I thought i was gonna be sick any moment but luckily i didnt. I had the solution though, we opened the window that was at the top of the car and me and Katie stood on our toes and let the cool breeze which smelled kinda like cow dung and rubbish and ikan asin attack our hair making us look like to crazy-looking lions on the top of the car. Well the kampung people really stopped to watch us whooping like idiots like we have 5 heads or something. But anyway, i didnt have carsick anymore even though im not sure Driver Anto enjoys the breeze like we do.

We saw a loooooooooong and biiiiig plantation of Palm Trees. It was going on like forever, and must take forever to plant. Well whoever the lucky owner is, he must be real rich . It;s starting to give me headache though.
Finally we reached the place, at that time, me and Katie had a hairstyle like gorillas.

So, we had planned to meet some hairy orangutans. Some BukitLawang-zens ( citizens) led us to a forest to see them, but with a payment of Rp150 per people. They are bonkers, well i guess we complained to much that they finally agrees everyone for Rp 200.
Well i enjoyed the forest hiking but since you know, me wimpy? My face looks pale when my energy was still boosted up.
So, we met a scary looong moving wobbly bridge thats above a dirty brownish river.

Yep, me looking fresh and excited for the trip~ with Katie and her handy camera.

We walked and leaped in the ultra slippery earth. I need to grab the arm of the Bukit Lawang-zen in order not to fall. It was like one of those experiences i've dreamt of, you know forest exploring? Yep, i really felt that way, totally forest-y. Not a sight of normal brick houses and shops and anything that you might find in the city. I was exhausted though. And oh btw, my shorts were dirty and stained after i sat on that moss(ed) full of algae log.

So, we walked which seems like forever, with me always being protected when i wished they'd let me try to do it myself.. They had promised we'd only walk for 3o minutes. But we walked an hour and a half to JUST to see an orangutan. Heck, imagine that!

But well, i guess it's 85% worth it. SInce, this orangutan is really a giant and as they say, rarely shows up.
Look down and Taraaaa~
AInt he a cutie? hahaha
Well, i cant actually believe i'm staring wide eyed at this hairy orange monster. He looks pretty scared too, just like me in case he'd attack us. IN CASE.
But , what i'm relieved is that the Bukit Lawang-zens doesnt even treat him badly. To call this orange creature, they did this loud : HOOOOO HOOOO" calling which we tried mimicking.
SO as you see, i had a nervous-timid smile plastered in my face. I was just a metre away from that orange creature and you should have felt how scared i was. He was ENORMOUSE.~
Well, Mom of course, jumped at the chance and began snapping photos. If i were the orangutan, i would feel scared to see a couple of weird aliens staring at him and using some weird gadget to take his pictures.
Fortunately, he is a good model. Expert at posing!
H-U-G-E huh?
he started getting a lil' wild. And then there was thunder. SO we set of and ran.
Halfway, met this chinese carrying 'pupuk' to the hill. Whoa, must be real heavy.
After this shot, hurried soon cause if the rain falls and the ground gets super duper slippery, we would probably fall to the other side of the earth and die.

But luckily, we didnt. Not as what i thought. I thought that this would be the end of me to admit. But well, YEAHH, we did it! My face was soooo pale by then.

See ? PAle me, Katie, Keumala and Velika. all of them looked fresh except me who looked like barely can smile.

Started driving for home at about 5 pm and reached home feeling sick and tummy aching at 8 pm.
Gosh.
